DRYLINING SOLUTIONS
SERVICES
Plastering
Plaster is a great way of finishing a dry-lined partition, ceiling, or masonry wall. Plaster gives a seamless finish that is ready for decoration with emulsion paint or wallpaper. For Plastering onto Plasterboard, what is known as a “Skim Finish “ is applied at a thickness of 2mm. Skim finish plasters include British Gypsum Thistle Multifinish Plaster and British Gypsum Thistle Board Finish Plaster.
Tape and Jointing
SDL Sundon can offer you a first rate tape and jointing service. The tape and jointing system is used for the seamless jointing of tapered edge boards to walls and ceilings. Jointing of all flat, internal and external corner joints is achieved with the application of two coats of joint filler and one coat of joint cement to leave a smooth finish ready for decoration.
Floor Screeds
A floor screed is usually a cementitious material made from a 1:3 or 1:4.5 ratio of cement to sharp sand. It may be applied onto either a solid in-situ concrete ground floor slab or onto a precast concrete floor unit.
Insualtion
Insulation types we use:
Building insulation, added to buildings for comfort and energy efficiency.
Soundproofing, also known as acoustic insulation, any means of reducing the intensity of sound.
Thermal insulation, materials used to reduce the rate of heat transfer.
Drylining
The process begins with the application of small dabs of adhesive to the wall, paying particular attention to ensure that adhesive is applied to areas such as the top and base of the board external wall abutments around sockets and to any identified fixing points. The plasterboard is then pressed on to the dabs quickly creating a smooth surface with a gap average of 10mm.
Tile and Grid Ceilings
Suspended Ceiling Tiles are the easiest and most cost effective method of improving the performance and the aesthetic appearance of an existing ceiling or soffit. There are a number of different manufacturers producing ceiling tiles is the United Kingdom – these include Armstrong, SAS, Burgess, CEP, Ecophon, AMF, Rockfon, USG Donn, OWA and Dampa.
Metal Frame Ceiling
The advantages of a metal frame ceiling is that it is very versatile to how you want your ceiling to look. You can easily add curves, changing in level and lighting. The finished surface can also be completed by a variety of methods, including painting, wall paper or vinyl.
Metal Stud Partition
There are various types of Metal Stud Systems used to create a framework onto which Plasterboard can be fixed. This is a quick method of installation, and thus is a cheaper alternative to using timber battons. Metal Stud Frameworks can be used in either vertical wall (Partitions/Wall Linings) or horizontal ceiling applications (MF Ceilings).
ABOUT
In business for the past 50 years this family run company was founded in 1979 by Eddie McSwiggan as Sundon Plasterers. Eddie built the company up by delivering exceptional quality whilst being extremley cost effective.
